About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supplier Relationship Manager to join our team at SSE Enterprise. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading energy company and contribute to our mission to become a leading energy company in a low-carbon world.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing productive relationships with our major Software and SaaS suppliers. This will involve providing commercial and contractual advice and insights to Procurement and Commercial leadership and Directors of the SSE Group.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive and proven in-depth knowledge and experience of the software and SaaS market and Supply chain, including experience in drafting, interpreting and negotiating complex IT & Telco Contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Management: Implement, manage and develop productive relationships between IT, P&C, BU and IT Key Suppliers.
  • Advisory: Provide commercial and contractual advice and insights to Procurement and Commercial leadership and Directors of the SSE Group.
  • Governance: Manage a portfolio of Suppliers either within the Software/ category with a value of £50-100m per annum to support the delivery of Procurement & Commercial department KPI's and objectives in line with Procurement Manual, Commercial Manual and the IT Contract Management Governance Manual.
  • Management: Manage the performance and develop the capabilities of a team of 2 Contract Manager(s). Also provide commercial / contractual advice and support to the wider P&C team.

What do I need?

  • Comprehensive and proven in-depth knowledge and experience of the software and SaaS market and Supply chain.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a highly experienced in building and maintaining relationships with IT & Telco Suppliers.
  • Proven track record in communicating effectively with Senior Management and Directors to build valued and 'trusted partner' relationships.
  • Experience in leading the most complex technology commercial negotiations and operating with the strategic/long term in mind to ensure SSE is leveraging both financial and operational opportunities across the SSE Group.
  • Superb problem-solving skills in complex supplier and internal customer relationship environments.
