Data Protection Compliance Specialist

We're seeking a Data Protection Compliance Specialist to support and develop our Data Protection compliance function. As part of our IT Assurance group, you'll play a key role in enabling the National Trust to deliver securely on its strategic objectives.

The Trust's Data Protection Office is a close-knit team dedicated to protecting personal data across all National Trust functions and activities. By putting individuals at the heart of everything we do, we help the Trust meet its compliance obligations in accordance with current legislation and the guidance of the Information Commissioner's Office.

This is a varied and fast-paced role that involves working flexibly and independently to meet changing priorities. Your contractual location will be our central office Heelis in Swindon, where you'll meet regularly with the team.

Key responsibilities:
Supporting the Data Protection Office Leads and other key stakeholders, you'll be responsible for the ongoing development and maturation of our Data Protection compliance framework. This includes promoting accuracy, consistency, and efficiency while keeping up to date with all relevant data protection legislation and best practice guidance.

Requirements:
Strong working knowledge of Data Protection and a respect for privacy, including an in-depth understanding of UK GDPR principles, regulatory and legislative obligations, and the risks of non-compliance. Ideally supported by a recognised practitioner level qualification in Data Protection.
