Job Title: Academy Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Academy Supervisor to join our growing Academy team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coaching, supervising, and training a team of advisers to develop their skills and knowledge in regulated financial planning. You will work closely with our Head of Academy and other team members to ensure the development of advisers to provide excellent client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure delivery of advice that reflects regulatory and internal standards.
  • Evaluate and monitor collective performance to ensure your team is delivering their business objectives in a safe and aligned manner to the strategic priorities of the business.
  • Ensure all Advisers in the team meet Competence testing deadlines and receive ongoing training and coaching as needed.
  • Feedback to TAP Management on areas of development for the Academy programme and T&C scheme requirements.
  • Ensure all Advisers are developed to further increase their skills, knowledge, and ability to perform to best meet their goals.
  • Ensure the key requirements of the business are met; delivery of advice, screening, and onboarding of clients.
  • Ensure all newly appointed advisers are monitored and managed in respect of regulatory T&C requirements.
  • Identify development opportunities and deliver these to ensure Advisers progress through their journey to Competent Adviser Status and through the 2-year Academy programme.
  • Liaise with TAP Management, sponsoring Appointed Representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure advice policies maximise good client outcomes.
  • Use judgement to strengthen our positive risk and control culture, by identifying, assessing, and managing risk within your business area.
  • Take an active lead in helping each person in your team perform to their best and understand how their work contributes to the achievement of business success.
Key Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • An effective coach, supervisor, and mentor.
  • Significant experience of front-line advice delivery and the management thereof in a mass affluent advisory business.
  • Experience of managing T&C requirements.
  • Expert-level knowledge of industry best practice, good network/links with external bodies and individuals in the same field.
  • Expert-level knowledge of life, pensions, and investment products, markets, and competitors.
  • An ability to support advisers in the development of their business and client acquisition skills.
  • Expert-level knowledge of financial services regulatory and legislation frameworks.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent people and time management skills.
  • Level 4 Diploma or equivalent in Regulated Financial Planning.
  • Desirable: Chartered status (or equivalent) in Financial Planning or working towards Chartered status.
