Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Engineer to join our team at Microsoft. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for owning, troubleshooting, and solving complex customer technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve complex customer technical issues, collaborating with internal teams and leveraging troubleshooting tools and practices.
  • Lead in building communities with peer delivery roles and share knowledge through readiness programs, technical coaching, and mentoring of others.
  • Engage with Microsoft Engineering/Supportability teams to investigate potential product defects and help develop automation techniques and diagnostic tools driving Microsoft product improvements.

Requirements

  • Multiple years of technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience.
  • Knowledge of container technology and fluency in Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Core Linux administration (boot process, file systems, network device and protocol configuration).
  • Understanding of the Networking OSI model and related concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Technology Certifications or CK A/AD/S.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Cloud.
  • Knowledge of Open Shift, or Redhat technologies.
  • Knowledge of Windows Operating System and Virtualization concepts.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including VIPs, NAT, DNS.
  • Knowledge of container specific networking concepts such as CNI.
  • Knowledge of networking tools (ping, tracert, tracemon, tcpdump, etc.).

Language Qualification

English Language: fluent in reading, writing, and speaking.

Security Clearance

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
