Bioinformatics Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Specialist to join our Data Sciences team at Engitix, working closely with the Translational Biology team to drive biomarker discovery for fibrotic liver diseases.

The successful candidate will be involved in the analysis of complex novel datasets, integrating clinical with molecular datasets to identify potential biomarkers of fibrotic liver diseases. This will involve working across the portfolio to develop better therapies, as part of a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary team of scientists.

  • Ensure data and analytics integrity through best practices in FAIR data, reproducibility, and documentation.
  • Possess a postgraduate degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or equivalent.
  • Have strong programming/scripting skills in R and/or Python.
  • Have previous experience of performing bulk transcriptomics analysis and at least one of:
    • Multi-omics and data integration.
    • Foundational skills in statistics and/or machine learning, including experience with methods such as survival analysis, regression analysis, dimensionality reduction, classification, and clustering.
