Safeguarding and Protection

As a Night Care Worker, you will be expected to engage in annual safeguarding training, familiarize yourself with key policies, and know the steps to take in case of a safeguarding or child protection concern. You will remain vigilant and act swiftly if you have concerns about a child, being an appropriate role model for both children and colleagues at all times.

About the Home

Millstream Lodge is a 5-bed home for children who may experience social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, as well as those on the autism spectrum. The home is built on strong foundations of empathy, understanding, respect, and acceptance of each child's individual background, experiences, preferences, challenges, and needs. As a Night Care Worker, you will support and nurture children to build their confidence and capability, reaching high to achieve their full potential.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the security of the building and alert senior staff of any security breaches.
  2. Keep a detailed nightly Log and provide this report to senior staff before going off duty.
  3. Contribute to oral and written assessments, reports, and reviews relating to individual children or groups of children.
  4. Assist the day staff in getting the children up in the morning and ready.
  5. Alert the Sleep In member of staff as necessary if a child is complaining of being unwell or upset.
