Role Overview

Kent County Council's Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking (UAS) Children's Service provides a supportive environment for newly arrived unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Kent. As a Children's Home Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and developing a team to deliver high-quality care and support to these children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support to UAS children.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve the quality of care and support provided to UAS children.
  • Work closely with the UAS Children's Service to ensure that the needs of UAS children are met and that they receive the best possible care and support.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure that the UAS Children's Service is compliant with Ofsted regulations and other relevant legislation.

Requirements

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in a children's home or similar setting.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective strategies to improve the quality of care and support provided to UAS children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary of between £49,522 and £57,712.
  • Market premiums as follows: £4,000 Golden Hello, £3,000 Annual Retention Premium (paid in instalments), £2,000 Service-Related Premium (paid in instalments), and £1,000 additional payment upon successful Ofsted registration.
  • Annual leave allowance of 29 to 30 days.
