About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Housing Support Specialist to join our team in Tenant Services. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential support to residents of sheltered housing schemes, ensuring their welfare and wellbeing needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct welfare and wellbeing calls to residents, identifying and arranging additional support as required.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide support during working hours and after hours, as agreed with the Sheltered Housing Team Manager.
  • Maintain accurate and current digital records, including next of kin, nearest contact, and family doctor for all residents.
  • Liaise with external agencies to address residents' welfare needs.
  • Assist with the letting of sheltered accommodation and welcome new residents.
  • Promote social activities and work with residents to organize events.
  • Maintain the security of communal premises and equipment.
  • Report repairs and faults as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to council policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of the needs of older people and awareness of Safeguarding issues.
  • IT skills, with experience of Microsoft Office package, including Microsoft Excel and Teams.
  • A driver's licence and access to own vehicle.
