Job Title: Lead Health and Social Care Teacher

Job Type: Full Time/Permanent

Location: London

Salary: £40,766-£62,092 + TLR

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Health Educator to join our team as a Lead Health and Social Care Teacher. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching and leadership, with the ability to implement and deliver a broad and balanced curriculum for students.

Responsibilities:

  1. Implement and deliver a designated curriculum area, ensuring a broad and balanced curriculum for students.
  2. Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor.
  3. Facilitate and encourage a learning experience that provides students with opportunities to achieve their individual potential.
  4. Contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
  5. Share and support the academy's responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.

Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Successful teaching experience at secondary level, with experience in multi-ethnic urban schools and of working in an 11-18 school.
  • Understanding of the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning.
  • High expectations and equality of access for all students.
  • Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff.
  • Good level of ICT skills, with innovative use of interactive white boards.
  • Ability to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage their own work effectively.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to motivate students and raise their aspirations through a range of strategies.
