Job Description

This is a full-time, permanent position that requires the lead teacher to implement and deliver a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum for students. The ideal candidate will have:

  • QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
  • Successful teaching experience at secondary level, ideally including experience in multi-ethnic urban schools and working in an 11-18 school
  • Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, and the ability to write lesson plans, develop resources, and assess student work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and parents

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Implementing and delivering the curriculum, including creating engaging lesson plans and assessments
  • Supporting the overall progress and development of students as a teacher and form tutor
  • Facilitating a learning experience that provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • Contributing to raising standards of student attainment
  • Sharing and supporting the academy's responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
  • Have successful teaching experience at secondary level, ideally including experience in multi-ethnic urban schools and working in an 11-18 school
  • Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
  • Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, and the ability to write lesson plans, develop resources, and assess student work
  • Be able to work as part of a team and develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff
  • Have a good level of ICT skills, ideally including innovative use of interactive white boards
