About the Role

The Engineering Shift Compliance Lead will be responsible for ensuring that all legal, planned, scheduled, re-active & pro-active works are carried out in full and in compliance with all relevant safety, food safety & legal requirements and with company and site policies and procedures.

As a people leader for 4 shift Engineers, you will identify, supervise, review and escalate site Health and Safety, Food Safety and audit standards with direct reports to operational shift managers.

You will prioritize Food Safety, Health and Safety issues, Plant availability and support the technical and operations team on audit, retail and food safety requirements.

The role will drive Health, Safety and Environment improvement initiatives and actions, co-ordinate the shift engineering resource to ensure plan conformance is achieved and organise planned work & co-ordinate reactive works and plant availability prioritisation.

You will coach and engage shift engineers and manufacturing technicians to ensure they perform to an acceptable standard and operate in accordance with site systems and policies including LOTO (lock out tag out) Permits, PTW, WAH, Hot Work etc.

The role will also identify, organise and supervise reactive contractors and contracted service requirements where necessary, ensure all McCain and legal documentation is fully complete and compliant.

Finally, you will ensure that engineering reporting systems are completed in full including SAP notifications and shift activity reports, Audit all PTW, work order completion, DRAs.

About You

We are looking for a proven leader with a passion for Engineering in a Food Manufacturing facility, with HNC or equivalent in appropriate Mechanical/Electrical discipline, Lean manufacturing principles, Experience of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems, Advanced Food Hygiene, HACCP and Leading a team, proven management style focused on coaching and mentoring.

This is a shift based role, with a shift pattern very favourable for work life balance, altering between 3 days and 2 nights with 1 day off in-between, and 2 days and 3 nights with 1 day off in-between them, allowing 3 and 4 days off respectively.
