About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Synchro, a leading provider of digital infrastructure solutions. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in delivering digital infrastructure projects across the UK by building strong relationships with our build partners and ensuring the commercial and contractual management of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Valuation & Payments: Value contractor work and certify interim and final payments to ensure timely and accurate payment to our suppliers.
  • Project Variations: Assess and authorise the submission of project variations to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Risk Mitigation: Review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks by implementing risk management policies and procedures.
  • Commercial Expertise: Provide commercial and contractual advice to our city build teams, including valuation certifications, claims handling, budget monitoring, and contract/workstream performance data.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong contractual relationships with our build partners to ensure smooth project delivery and long-term partnerships.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Commercial Management: Solid experience in commercial management and contractor procurement, ideally with working knowledge of NEC3 ECC forms.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers and partners, and resolve contractual issues.
  • Project Oversight: Experience overseeing large capital expenditure projects.
  • Data & Financial Skills: Proficiency in Excel and data management tools. Experience in interpreting and collating financial data using spreadsheets.
  • Presentation & Reporting: Strong presentation and report-writing skills.
  • Industry Experience: Background in construction, telecoms, civil engineering, or utilities is highly desirable.
