Business Administration Manager Pharmacy/Prescribing

As a key member of the Management Team and Pharmacy Service, you will provide a comprehensive and confidential secretarial and administrative service to ensure an efficient and effective support service.

Handles highly sensitive and confidential matters, requiring a high degree of tact and diplomacy. The postholder will carry out their function autonomously, giving advice and acting on their own initiative to assist in ensuring the smooth running of the office.

Responsible for assisting in managing the administration of the office, delegating workload, and supervising other administration staff. Assist in developing administration & clerical services, ensuring staff needs are met through the PDP process and that staff are supported via regular contact and formal meetings.

The postholder is directly supervised and requires a high level of personal initiative to make independent decisions regarding workload priorities, pharmacists, external pharmacy contractors, external contractors enquiries, general telephone enquiries, and diary conflicts.

The service continually evolves, and new administrative systems need to be developed by producing standard operational procedure (SOPs).

What we're looking for

Professional qualification in a relevant discipline (Business Admin/Secretarial Studies/Public Administration) or equivalent previous experience.

Well-developed interpersonal skills in customer care.

Excellent communication skills.

Good organisational and planning skills.

Understanding of a range of procedures and processes.

Ability to prioritise work and work on own initiative whilst under pressure.

Proficient I.T. skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Ensuring confidentiality, diplomacy, and discretion are maintained at all times.

The working pattern for this role is Mon-Fri; 9:00-5:00.
