Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Research Analyst to join our Energy and Commodity Trading team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the trading business, analyzing complex data, and drawing conclusions about market trends.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economics, statistics, and mathematics, and will be adept at using these skills to analyze large datasets. You will work closely with other market analysts to interpret data, identify patterns, and make recommendations based on your findings.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and apply econometric models to analyze complex data, including energy fundamental data.
  • Interpret data and identify patterns to provide actionable insights.
  • Use statistical software and programming tools to analyze data and make recommendations.
  • Support strategic business decisions by communicating the impact of our analysis to traders and the wider business.
  • Communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner to traders, structurers, and the wider business.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a trading environment.
  • Commercial thinking and ability to see opportunities in data and trends.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to manage moving deadlines and changing priorities.
