We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic health professional to undertake the role of Senior Matron Clinical Nursing Informatics Lead within the Corporate Nursing Team at Swansea Bay University Health Board.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and deployment of digital and clinical information systems, ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical care and promoting new ways of working through better access to information and knowledge.

Main Responsibilities

Be accountable for informing the strategic direction and nursing leadership in the development, deployment, and optimisation of digital and clinical information systems and wider transformational change.

Demonstrate inspirational leadership to engage with Health Board/Trust multidisciplinary teams and with external stakeholders collaborating to inform the project board.

Be the strategic lead for the Director of Nursing and nursing workforce to ensure the delivery of key milestones and achieve delivery of the project within time scales set.

Give advice and direction across the organisation on the quality assurance and improvement processes and work with clinical team members to design and deliver safe and effective nursing e-documentation applications to support the delivery of high-quality clinical care.

Qualification and/or Knowledge

Essential Criteria

  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with Nursing & Midwifery Council
  • Masters degree or equivalent qualification in health-related subject

Experience

  • Nursing management experience, including resource management
  • Expertise and experience of applying NHS Wales Health & Care Standards into practice
  • Effective leadership skills, coaching, and mentoring experience
  • Experience and understanding of change management process
  • High level of political awareness, capable of understanding the wider objectives of the organisation and its context within current assembly policy and strategic direction

Aptitude and Abilities

Essential Criteria

  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills when dealing with highly complex and sensitive information
  • Confident and effective presentation skills from board to floor
  • Good understanding of how to engage clinicians and patients in defining requirements and implementing solutions
  • Sound judgment and confident with decision making involving highly complex facts or situations across the Health Board/Directorates portfolio
  • Computer literate needing accuracy including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Microsoft Project
