Purpose of the role



As a Senior Finance Manager at Heidelberg Materials AG, you will play a vital role in driving business performance by providing insightful financial analysis and support to the business partner. This will involve working closely with the business partner to develop and maintain a meaningful financial analysis and support function, contributing to the performance of the business.



Key responsibilities




  • Management Support and Finance
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners
  • Act as an expert in finance, drawing from in-depth financial and business understanding
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data, and prepare ad hoc financial reports, models, presentations, and recommendations for business lines
  • Proactively identify improvement opportunities and develop best practices in line with broad annual goals


Planning and Forecasting




  • Coordinate with business partners to ensure appropriate planning and forecasting processes provide country and business line management with relevant and reliable forward-looking business information
  • Support and guide business partners and business lines on budget and forecast preparation, ensuring accuracy and usefulness


Accounting




  • Work with the SSC and RCC to ensure accurate financial accounts are prepared and presented, complying with national accounting standards and statutory requirements
  • Liaise and coordinate with business partners and the business to ensure all business line-specific events are correctly reflected in financial accounts
  • Analyze diverse queries and draw from financial and business understanding to find solutions
  • Support and advise business partners in ongoing review and challenge of business processes and best practices


Compliance and processes




  • Support and advise on compliance with relevant, up-to-date company and statutory requirements
  • Support and advise business lines on process improvements


Requirements




  • Experience

    • Significant commercial finance experience in a medium to large-sized organization
    • Commercial and strategic business acumen
    • Up-to-date knowledge of technical accounting and financial reporting guidelines

Education



Professional accounting qualification, ACA or CIMA, with demonstrable post-qualification experience
