About the Role

The Fire Safety Expert is responsible for overseeing the development and quality assurance of Fire Safety Products, including reviewing building control consultations for complex fire engineered design submissions.

This role provides support and guidance to the business, while also offering customer support remotely and on-site visits where our products have been installed. The ideal candidate will develop and support business engagement campaigns, work with other departments and partners to improve product quality, and participate in external bodies, national committees or working groups as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing new Fire Detectors and associated ancillaries.
  • Resolving problems at the root cause and managing the engineering change process.
  • Supporting the product team to maintain safety and quality.
  • Identifying continuous improvements in products.
  • Providing training to the current team on knowledge gaps in products and legislation.
  • Offering on-site support to customers facing issues and providing CPD training when necessary.

To be Successful in this Role:

  • Prior experience working in the residential fire industry.
  • Degree or equivalent in Design Engineering.
  • Good knowledge of fire legislation in England and Scotland.
  • Experience in manufacturing fire detection equipment.
  • Familiarity with problem-solving tools.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate effectively both verbally and written at all levels.
  • Attention to detail and multitasking skills are essential.
  • Self-motivation, ability to work well with others, achieve deadlines, and targets on their own initiative.
  • Able to present to large groups of people.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and simplify complex information.
