About the Role

We are seeking an Assistant Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at Adel Beck, a 24-bedded secure children's home. As part of our CAMH team, you will be working with young people aged 10-18 who have been remanded or sentenced by the criminal courts, or accommodated for their own welfare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of formulations and work with children and teams to provide psychological assessment and interventions.
  • Contribute to clinically related administration, audits, and research projects, as well as teaching and project work.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to provide high-quality care and support to service users.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with a strong academic background in Psychology, preferably with a 2:1 degree or higher. You should have entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of psychological principles and their application in healthcare settings.

Essential skills include high-level communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a strong understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health problems and learning disabilities.

Desirable skills include experience working with people with mental health problems, a desire to explore a career in professional psychology, and experience using computers for databases or data analysis.
