International Emergency Medical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced International Emergency Medical Nurse to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Medical Assistance Team, you will provide first-class medical assistance to our customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide timely and suitable information over the phone to customers based on professional expertise and training.
- Ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded for each case.
- Monitor individual cases regularly to maintain focused and effective service.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and organisations to deliver prompt and correct service.
- Utilise necessary IT software systems and stay updated on medical information.
- Communicate effectively with medical professionals globally when required.
- Deliver high-quality training to medical assistance personnel and maintain medical equipment as needed.
- Exercise cost control within insurance policies and escalate issues when necessary.
- Anticipate, approve, and monitor estimated costs for clients, updating them regularly.
- Maintain relevant professional qualifications and accreditations.
Our Medical Assistance Team is available 24/7, providing support from our office environment with the option for hybrid working. You will work a set number of hours per week, spread across 3 days, with shifts scheduled between 07:30 and 20:00 over Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays.
Salary:We are offering a pro-rata salary of £24,570 per annum, based on the full-time salary of £38,220.
Training:You will receive an extensive 12-week training programme, including a dedicated 'Training Buddy' to support your development. Training will take place on a full-time basis from 9:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, for the first 6 weeks.
Your Profile:We are looking for a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience, including at least 2 years in acute areas such as ITU/A&E/CCU or equivalent. You will need to have evidence of current registration and revalidation with NMC and membership of the Royal College of Nursing. Experience in repatriation work is desirable.
You will need to have excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle language and cultural barriers. You will also need to be willing to take initiative to solve problems and know when to refer to a doctor or operations team leader.
Sufficient medical knowledge, travel insurance knowledge, and worldwide repatriation knowledge are essential. Additional language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
As a member of our team, you will be expected to work alone and unsupervised, making instant decisions to ensure patient safety, including improvisation when necessary. You will also need to ensure up-to-date ILS / ALS / PALS training every year and bi-annual health and safety training.
Membership of the IFNA (In-Flight Nurses Association) is also required.
