Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse to fill a Sister/Charge Nurse position in our Orthopaedic and Spinal Unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you can utilize your skills and expertise to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualized patient care of the highest standard, acting as the named nurse and ensuring assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation align with evidence-based practices.
  • Take a senior role within the ward, providing leadership and mentorship to more junior members of staff.
  • Promote safe practice and professional conduct, and be competent in recognizing life-threatening/emergency situations.
  • Organize workload in-line with clinical priorities and establish good working relationships with specialist practitioners and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure effective care and treatment of patients.
  • Contribute to research and development programs, as well as uphold quality initiatives that improve 'customer/patient care' and participate in the audit process where appropriate.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration.
  • Post-registration acute surgical ward experience with sound evidence-based knowledge in general nursing and familiarity with various nursing models.
  • Previous experience in orthopaedics and spinal surgery.
  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills and respect for a diverse range of patients from various cultures and backgrounds, with the confidence to assess situations and make clinical decisions appropriately.
