About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Theatre Scrub Nurse to join our Orthopaedics/Spinal team at Cromwell Hospital. As a Theatre Scrub Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our theatre suites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate peri-operative patient care.
  • Participate in the delegation and supervision of junior grades, non-registered, and less experienced staff.
  • Create and maintain legible and accurate records of care in accordance with BUPA and Cromwell Hospital's local policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the positioning and preparation of patients as directed by the surgical team and ensure that any specimens are correctly labelled and dispatched to the laboratory.
  • Help control cross-infection by observing departmental policy regarding dress, the maintenance of a clean working environment, decontamination, sterilization procedures, and asepsis.
  • Prepare patients for clinical/operative procedures, both in anaesthetics and surgery.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with 1st level registration adult and/or children, or Diploma or Degree in Health Care Studies, or ODP Level 3 NVQ, or ODA 752.
  • Cardiac scrub nurse experience.
  • Proven recent perioperative experience.
  • Ability to deliver high standards of care.
