Job Overview

Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Consultant Community Paediatrician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide neurodevelopmental and neurobehavioural assessments for children aged 0-18 years, managing complex conditions such as ADHD, tics, and epilepsy.

The role involves working with Specialist Registrars, developing a specific area of interest, and contributing to the strategic direction of the Trust. Our ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and service development skills, with experience in clinical governance, research, and general management.

Main Duties
  • Provide comprehensive care for children with neurodevelopmental disorders, including ADHD, autism, and cerebral palsy.
  • Manage referrals from the Pan-Dorset Development and Behavioural Pathway, ensuring timely and effective assessment and treatment.
  • Contribute to the clinical supervision and training of Specialist Registrars, promoting their professional development.

Requirements
  • Fully registered with the GMC and on the Specialist Register.
  • 5 years' experience in Paediatrics, including 6 months in a tertiary neonatal unit or equivalent.
  • Advanced Paediatric and Neonatal Resuscitation skills training within the last 4 years.
Salary and Benefits
