About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Worker to join our team at Oldham Council. As a key member of our residential staff, you will play a vital role in supporting young people in our care, helping them to develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our young people. You will be responsible for developing and implementing individual care plans, monitoring progress, and providing support and guidance to help our young people achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individual care plans, taking into account the unique needs and goals of each young person.
  • Provide support and guidance to help young people develop life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
  • Work closely with our multi-disciplinary team to ensure that our young people receive comprehensive support and care.
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments to care plans as needed.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with children and young people in a residential care setting.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build strong relationships with colleagues and young people.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
