Residential Childcare Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Worker to join our team at Oldham Council. As a key member of our residential staff, you will play a vital role in supporting young people in our care, helping them to develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individual care plans, working closely with young people to identify their needs and goals.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to young people, helping them to manage challenging behaviors and develop positive relationships.
- Contribute to a safe and supportive living environment, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of young people in our care.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality care and support, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring that all relevant information is recorded and shared with colleagues and managers as required.
- Experience of working with children and young people, preferably in a residential care setting.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with young people, colleagues, and managers.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, as required.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, with a strong understanding of relevant policies and procedures.
