About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Worker to join our team at Oldham Council. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people in our care, helping them to develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will work closely with our young people, providing individualised support and care to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals. You will be responsible for developing and implementing care plans, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and support to help our young people reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individual care plans, taking into account the unique needs and goals of each young person.
  • Provide individualised support and care to young people, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Monitor progress and adjust care plans as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young people.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the care team to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment for our young people.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with children and young people in a care or support setting.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with young people, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work flexibly and respond to changing circumstances, prioritising the needs of our young people.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
