About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Worker to join our team at Oldham Council. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people in our care, helping them to develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our young people. You will be responsible for developing and implementing individual care plans, providing emotional support and guidance, and helping our young people to develop their life skills and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individual care plans to meet the needs of our young people
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to our young people, helping them to develop their life skills and independence
  • Work closely with our multi-disciplinary team to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our young people
  • Assist our young people with daily living tasks, such as personal care and household chores
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Experience of working with children and young people in a care or support setting
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and provide a high level of care and support to our young people
