About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Behavioural Unit Teaching Assistant. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to supporting individuals with mental health conditions and offenders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with individuals and support them through difficult situations.
  • Work with small groups or on a 1:1 basis to assess the needs of children and young people and use specialist skills to support learning.
  • Encourage children and young people to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities.
Requirements
  • Driver with access to own vehicle.
  • Previous experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviour and social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).
  • Team-Teach qualification or relevant qualification (e.g. PROACT-SCIP/MAPA) is highly desirable.
  • Understanding and flexible nature, alongside being proactive, empathetic, engaging and creative.
  • Patient, engaging and calm when under pressure.
  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) and Disclosure Barring Service (DBS).
