Role Overview

The Conflicts Officer will be part of our Global Risk & Compliance Department, working closely with the Conflicts & Ethics Team to identify and resolve potential conflicts of interest. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of professional conduct rules in the UK and across Ashurst's global operations.
  • Use research skills to verify clients, third parties, and assets involved in new business requests.
  • Analyze information in our conflict management systems to identify potential conflicts of interest.
  • Collaborate with team members and senior management to resolve conflicts and ensure compliance.
  • Record accurate phone notes, legal, and commercial analysis for compliance purposes.
  • Maintain high data quality within our conflicts database.
Other Tasks
  • Work across function groups to tackle projects and solve problems.
  • Participate in continuous professional development opportunities and career development planning.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering training sessions for the business.

  • Interest in corporate multinational firms and their operations.
  • Desire to understand the business and work collaboratively to solve problems.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong IT literacy and adaptability to new processes and technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of staff.
  • Discretion to maintain confidential information.
Education/Qualification
  • We welcome applicants from law and non-law disciplines.
  • Experience in a law firm or large corporation is preferable but not essential.
