Job Description:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer Research Assistant to join our team in Cambridge, UK. As part of SLB's global network of research and engineering centers, you will be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment with state-of-the-art research and computing facilities. Your role will involve working with research scientists to develop technologies for geothermal, oil, and gas well construction, as well as pursuing fundamental research in rock cutting mechanics.

Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and carrying out modelling and experimental work
- Record and process data
- Scan test results
- Calculate and compare efficiency
- Simulate the experimental test model in ANSYS
- Internal Report: summarizing work and findings
- Peer Review: presented to the whole site

Requirements:
- Studying for a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Data processing and analysis skills (Matlab)
- Finite element modeling skills (ANSYS or ABAQUS)
- Good communication skills
- Teamwork and collaboration skills
- Preferred: Emphasis on mechanics of materials/solid mechanics experience with LS DYNA

Estimated Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Location: Cambridge, UK.
