About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Criminology Graduate to join our team as a Youth Support Specialist in Lewes.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to support children with moderate learning difficulties and additional mental health needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to make a positive impact on young minds and improve their quality of life.

About the Job

You will be working with children who have experienced trauma, challenging behavior, ADHD, or Autism, and require additional support with improving their social, emotional, and mental well-being. As a Youth Support Specialist, you will assist the class teacher in providing a supportive learning environment and take an active role in forward planning with therapists.

Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities that cater to the needs of students with complex needs.
  • Develop strong and positive relationships with children, providing guidance and support when needed.
Requirements
  • Proactive approach and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a generous holiday allowance and opportunities for career progression. Our school is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all staff and students.

Estimated Salary: £27,500
