About the Role

The Youth Justice Team aims to prevent and reduce offending by children and young people, working with high-risk repeat offenders to prevent re-offending. The team promotes and maximises the welfare and safeguarding of young people who have entered the criminal youth justice system, and increases awareness and confidence in the youth justice system.

Key Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for managing a caseload, supporting children and young people, and working closely with the local authorities. The successful candidate will be part of the Targeted Youth Support Service, which forms part of the AfC Early Help offer. This offer is based on strong evidence-based practice and is underpinned by the assessment of need and locality model of working.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and young people, particularly those who are at risk of offending. They will be able to work effectively in a team, manage a caseload, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. The successful candidate will also have a strong understanding of the youth justice system and be able to promote and maximise the welfare and safeguarding of young people.
