Job Title: ASD Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a mainstream Primary school in Banbury.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to the child with ASD, focusing on their academic and social development.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to support the child's needs.
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation, and contribute to the development of the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Support the child's social and emotional development, and help them to develop positive relationships with their peers.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ASD and other Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Knowledge of child development and learning theories, and experience of implementing strategies to support children's learning.
