Part-time Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Part-time Payroll Specialist to join our team at Queens' College, Cambridge. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee the payroll process, including calculating and processing payments for all staff and casual workers.
- Reconcile month and year-end figures for PAYE, National Insurance, Student Loans, and other deductions.
- Prepare and submit reports to HMRC, including RTI, P11d's, and P46's.
- Stay updated on Payroll legislation, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Manage pay awards, arrears, overtime claims, and other variations in pay.
- Conduct regular audits or reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in processing payroll, payroll legislation, regulation, and tax compliance.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies and issues in payroll processing.
- Part-time hours: 15 hours per week with a flexible working pattern.
- Salary: In the range of £35,000 to £45,000 per annum (FTE), depending on experience.
- Pension: Membership of the College contributory, final salary pension scheme after the qualifying period.
- Holiday: 26 days per annum plus public holidays (34 days in total).
