Strategic Marketing Lead for Large-Scale Events

About the Role

The Economist is seeking a highly motivated Marketing Lead to join our dynamic team at Economist Impact. As a key member of our marketing team, you will be responsible for strategically planning and delivering cross-channel marketing campaigns to secure sponsorship and delegate revenue for our large-scale events portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop effective marketing strategies to generate sponsorship leads and attract new business
  • Collaborate with the commercial department to develop marketing campaigns that generate sales leads and drive attendee registration
  • Plan and execute multichannel marketing campaigns to generate and nurture leads using a range of channels
  • Manage and monitor budgets, provide accurate and detailed forecasts, and feed into the budget-setting process
  • Manage marketing partner relationships with external media publications, industry, and professional associations
  • Develop content for all marketing materials, including emails, banner ads, print ads, digital ads, press releases, and social media posts
  • Monitor, track, and provide analysis to help measure the effectiveness of campaigns

Requirements

  • Proven marketing and lead generation experience, preferably in conference marketing and industry events
  • Proven experience working with sales teams and creating and implementing shared processes and strategies to deliver sponsorship revenue growth
  • Team player with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent time management and the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms
  • Exceptional copy-writing skills and English both written and spoken
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to make informed decisions
  • Creative thinker with a passion for staying ahead of industry trends
  • Self-motivated, naturally curious, and a strong sense of personal accountability
  • Experience using marketing and analytics systems such as Google Analytics, Eloqua, Salesforce, Cvent, or equivalents, and back-end website editing tools like WordPress
