About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Participation Officer to support and advocate for children and young people in care. As a key member of our team, you will ensure that their voices are heard in Children's Services and that they are able to influence service development and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate participation activities for children and young people within the service, ensuring their active involvement in decision-making processes.
  2. Implement and manage the Mind of My Own app to enhance engagement with children in care, promoting their autonomy and self-expression.
  3. Support the corporate parenting committee in ensuring the active involvement of children in care and care leavers, fostering a culture of participation and inclusivity.

Requirements

  • Experience in a social care/childcare setting, with a focus on direct work with children and young people.
  • Proficient in IT systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to produce high-quality work within tight deadlines.
