Teaching Assistant Opportunity for Psychology Graduates

Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to work as Teaching Assistants in schools across Crosby, Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity for Psychology graduates to gain valuable experience in education, particularly within Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Utilize your psychological knowledge to support students' well-being and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Assist students in overcoming challenges in their learning, behaviour, and personal growth, working closely with teaching staff and SEN coordinators.
  • Occasionally assist with behaviour management and pastoral care, leveraging insights from your psychology studies.
Requirements:
  • Possession of a Psychology degree or similar is ideal but not essential.
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults in any capacity (volunteering, tutoring, mentoring) is preferred.
  • Knowledge or interest in SEN, SEMH, or child development is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to support children with varying educational needs.
  • Ability to hold or process an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service.
  • Able to provide two professional child-related references.
