Job Title: Child and Adolescent Therapist

About the Role:
Polaris Children's Services is seeking a skilled Child and Adolescent Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary team. As a Child and Adolescent Therapist, you will provide therapeutic interventions to children in care and care leavers, as well as their foster carers and professional systems around them.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work within internal and nationally recognised clinical governance frameworks to ensure a safe, high-quality, consistent service for all families.
  2. Provide training and consultations to the systems around the child or young person.
  3. Deliver therapeutic interventions to children in care and care leavers.
  4. Support foster carers with therapeutic parenting strategies and workshops.
  5. Collaborate with professionals, parents, and foster carers to support placement stability and improved emotional health and wellbeing for the child or young person.

Requirements:
  1. Counselling and/or therapy qualification.
  2. Experience of working with children and young people.
  3. Experience of working with professionals, parents, and foster carers.
  4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually.
  5. Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  6. Understanding of trauma, attachment, and children in care or care leavers, as well as the THRIVE model.
  7. Experience delivering groups and workshops for children and adults; or a willingness to learn and support delivery.
  8. A high level of organisation, good written and verbal communication.
  9. Resilience and ability to work well under pressure.
  10. Maintain a professional registration with a recognised professional body.
  11. Maintain clinical supervision each month in line with recognised professional body standards.
  12. UK Full driving license and ability to travel around the borough of Wirral, in addition to a 40-mile radius of the border of the borough.
