Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Specialist Community Practitioner Student. As a key member of our community nursing team, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for working towards gaining the standards of proficiency for entry to the NMC register/recordable for Specialist Community Practitioner, District Nurse. This will involve developing knowledge, skills, and competencies to take on the role of a qualified Specialist Community Practitioner within the Neighbourhood nursing service.

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of current and emerging National, Regional, and local healthcare legislation, policies, and guidelines as they pertain to chosen pathway. They will also be required to develop/build on skills of caseload and team leadership and management.

The Specialist Community Practitioner Student will be an active part of the host team, taking on increasingly complex patients for reviews and new patient assessments, participation in hand over and other team meetings.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work independently at a postgraduate level. They will also have a background knowledge of current policy relating to public health and primary care, as well as experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a commitment to the delivery of an effective and efficient district nursing service, as well as a willingness to develop their skills and knowledge in a dynamic and supportive environment.
