Teaching Assistant Position at North Lakes Children's Services

This Teaching Assistant position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of pupils with special educational needs at our school. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the learning and independence of our pupils.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a busy team. You will be responsible for supporting pupils with varying levels of special educational needs, both academically and personally, and working closely with teaching staff to ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum.

About the Role:

  • Support pupils in various learning environments, including one-to-one, groups, and classrooms
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement individual programmes for pupils
  • Accompany pupils on school visits and outings, promoting social skills and confidence
  • Assist in resolving issues and promoting positive behaviour among pupils
  • Keep accurate records of pupil progress and development

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in a similar environment or equivalent qualifications
  • GCSE standard academic qualifications or NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) and proven experience in a similar role
  • Basic first aid knowledge and ability to work independently
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work effectively within a team
