Payroll Officer

NISI is seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join our team. As a key member of our payroll function, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing for our stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for multiple organisations, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements and organisational policies.
- Manage and maintain payroll records and controls, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to enquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve payroll processing deadlines, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Stay up-to-date with HMRC requirements and organisational policies, ensuring compliance and best practices.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including employees, managers, and councillors.
Requirements:
- Experience in payroll processing, with a recognised payroll qualification and evidence of continuing professional development.
- Strong understanding of HMRC requirements, including tax, NI, SMP, SSP, and RTI reporting.
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to work in a small team, with minimal supervision, and communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences.
- Flexible approach to duties and hours, with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
