Payroll Specialist

Portfolio Payroll is seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join our team on a 6-9 month temporary basis. As a key member of our payroll team, you will be responsible for providing an effective and accurate payroll service to our stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Process and manage payroll records and controls for multiple organizations.
- Administer statutory and occupational schemes of leave, including sickness, accidents, maternity, and paternity.
- Maintain group email inboxes and respond to external and internal enquiries.
- Ensure deductions from salaries are made in accordance with employee and other instructions.
- Comply with HMRC requirements for taxation and NI, and Essex Pension Fund for pensions.
- Provide resilience across the service for cover when required.
- Experience of payroll processing and recognized payroll qualification.
- Knowledge of iTrent and up-to-date understanding of HMRC requirements.
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with ability to work in a small team without supervision.
- Effective communication skills and flexible approach to duties and hours.
- Ability to keep calm under pressure and maintain excellent timekeeping and organization skills.
