We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Nurse to join our dedicated team at Kings Norton Hospital, a purpose-built adult mental health service.

Job Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced nurse to take on a leadership role, providing high-quality care and support to individuals with complex mental health needs.

The successful candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide visible clinical leadership and professional direction to the nursing team on a day-to-day basis across 24/7 periods.
  • To plan, allocate, supervise, and evaluate working practices of the team on a shift-by-shift basis, ensuring high visibility of all staff at all times on the floor.
  • To be responsible for timely discharge/transfer of patients by working closely with the Discharge Community Liaison Coordinator and ensuring all medications are available for safe discharge/transfer.
  • To ensure the care, welfare, and safety of all patients are maintained at the highest possible standard.
  • To create individualized care plans for patients/update care plans daily.
  • Liaising effectively with external suppliers and healthcare providers.
  • Monitoring and developing performance of support workers.
  • Using a person-centered approach to ensure every individual's needs are understood and met with the greatest privacy, dignity, and respect.
  • Acting as Primary Nurse, taking overall responsibility for the nursing residents receive, through nursing assessments and care planning.
  • Contributing towards MDT working, risk assessment management, and ongoing clinical improvement.
  • Providing written nursing reports for statutory and clinical review processes.
  • To undertake clinical supervision to further develop competence and clinical practice.
Requirements
  • A current NMC Pin registration, with at least 4 years' experience in a similar environment.
  • A legal right to work in the UK.
  • Evidence of continuous personal and professional development.
  • Passionate about providing high-quality care and the Patient and Carer Experience.
