About the Role:

An on-call firefighter is a paid professional employed by the fire and rescue service who is 'on call' to respond to a range of emergencies and engage with their community.

They have everyday lives and jobs until their pager sounds, at which point they become highly trained and experienced firefighters, saving lives and protecting people and community assets.

This role requires a unique blend of physical fitness, quick thinking, and community involvement, making it an exciting and challenging opportunity for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergency calls and provide fire and rescue services
  • Engage with the community to promote fire safety and prevention
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure effective emergency response

Requirements:

  • Ability to reach the fire station quickly and safely after being alerted to an incident
  • Physical fitness is essential for this role
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
