Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering routine and urgent dental care to patients who require specialized attention due to their additional needs, social and behavioural limitations, domiciliary dental needs, anxiety management, and bariatric care. This includes providing comprehensive dental screening, survey, and treatment services, as well as emergency treatment for patients requiring special care dentistry.
About the Role
As a Specialist in Special Care Dentistry, you will work closely with an enthusiastic and dedicated team of Specialists in Special Care Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry, and GA/Sedation to provide high-quality patient care. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in a supportive environment, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive dental care to patients with complex medical co-morbidities or other special needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with specific requirements
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide seamless care and support
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in special care dentistry through ongoing professional development and training
Person Specification
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong background in special care dentistry, including experience working with patients with complex medical co-morbidities
- An active Performers List number and current registration with the General Dental Council
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- The ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances
Salary Information
The salary for this role is approximately £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
