Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at ComTec Information Systems. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our locomotives and coaches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commission and warranty locomotives and/or coaches to ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot failures on locomotives or coaches to identify the root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs using mechanical drawings, schematics, and circuit plans.
  • Utilize laptops with subsystem software to diagnose and troubleshoot various systems onboard the locomotives.
  • Diagnose electrical malfunctions in locomotive or coach control circuits and components, and identify corrective actions needed.
  • Read, interpret, and understand written or electronic information to identify the root cause of failures and compile reports for your site lead and warranty manager.
  • Implement Field Modifications (FMIs) to improve the quality of our product.
  • Document failures, part exchanges, implementation of FMIs, and performed work in our Commissioning and Warranty database.
  • Communicate technical information, job procedures, recommendations, improvements, and other work-related information to the site lead and colleagues.
  • Receive and send out failed parts for repair.
  • Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Individual must possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
