About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join our team at National Grid plc. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a critical role in leading our strategic sourcing initiatives and driving value for our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Strategic Sourcing Plans: Develop and execute comprehensive strategic sourcing plans to meet the needs of our business, ensuring alignment with our procurement strategy and goals.
  • Lead Complex Procurement Projects: Lead complex procurement projects, including tendering, contract negotiation, and contract management, to ensure successful delivery of projects and achievement of business objectives.
  • Manage Supplier Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and issue resolution.
  • Drive Value Creation: Identify and implement opportunities to drive value creation through procurement, including cost savings, process improvements, and supplier innovation.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, supply chain, and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Manage Procurement Processes: Develop and implement effective procurement processes, including tendering, contract management, and supplier performance management.
Requirements
  • Proven Procurement Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, with a strong track record of delivering strategic sourcing initiatives and driving value creation.
  • Strategic Sourcing Expertise: Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, including tendering, contract negotiation, and contract management.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Strong ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand business needs and develop effective procurement strategies to meet those needs.
