Job Title: Teaching Assistant for Challenging Behaviours

Location: Bristol

Job Type: Full-time, Supply

Salary:  £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at an outstanding SEMH school in Bristol. As a Teaching Assistant for Challenging Behaviours, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, helping them engage positively with their learning and develop essential life skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs, using tailored strategies to promote academic progress and emotional well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and other professionals to create a safe and inclusive environment, implementing strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.

Requirements:

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with relevant experience working with students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
  • An ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications in Education, SEN, or Childcare.
  • Previous experience in a similar SEMH school setting, with a proven track record of supporting students with SEMH needs.
