Job Title: Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced doctor to join our team as a Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery. The post is designed for a more experienced doctor pursuing a career in orthopaedic surgery who has an interest in complex trauma and limb reconstruction, including the use of fine wire circular fixators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the limb reconstruction consultant orthopaedic surgeons in theatre, clinics, and wards.
  • Teach and supervise junior orthopaedic staff.
  • Participate in audit and research projects.
  • Work with the limb reconstruction surgeons to provide a comprehensive limb reconstruction service for open fractures, intra-articular fractures, and other complex lower limb injuries.
  • Present and publish academic work in collaboration with the supervising consultants.
Requirements:
  • Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practice.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • ATLS and AO Basic course certification.
  • Previous experience in trauma and orthopaedic surgery at ST3 level and above.
  • Ability to apply sound clinical knowledge and judgement to problems.
  • Ability to prioritise clinical need.
  • Ability to maximise safety and minimise risk.
