About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Clinical Knee Fellow to join our team at Chapel Allerton Orthopaedic Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced clinical and surgical training in knee arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction, primary total knee and uni-compartmental knee replacement, and osteotomies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a high-quality clinical service to patients requiring knee surgery as part of the team.
  • Cover additional operating lists made vacant by annual and study leave.
  • Organise and run departmental teaching sessions.
  • Contribute to the long-term follow-up of patients working with the outcomes team, supporting one outpatient clinic weekly for long-term follow-up patients and selected new patients.
  • Contribute to the audit, research, and unit meetings.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the clinical dataset.
  • Submit to peer-reviewed journals at least one paper every six months.

Person Specification

  • Essential:
    • 84 months of experience after full GMC registration or equivalent, with evidence of achievement of foundation competences, in line with GMC standards.
    • Five years of experience in orthopaedics from the start of registrar (ST) or equivalent training.
    • Make the care of your patients your first concern.
    • Provide a good standard of practice and care.
  • Desirable:
    • Previous experience of working in a knee firm.
    • Developed arthroscopic skills.
