We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Dunbar Education. About the Role:

  • This graduate role involves supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally in a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • You will work closely with experienced teachers and SEN professionals to deliver tailored lessons that meet the needs of pupils with Autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support or small group assistance to students as needed.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted lessons to cater to the unique requirements of students with Autism.
  • Promote social, emotional, and academic development among students.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies aligned with the school's policies.
  • Help create a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and report on students' progress to teaching staff.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for working with children with SEN, especially Autism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to challenging situations.
  • Previous experience in an SEN environment is advantageous but not essential.
